The reason why I chose these photos was mostly because they caught my eye, but the two on the left intrigued me as with character design you might have to alter features or even merge humans and animals together and it helps you build a story around a drawing. The one on the right I chose because its a good way to show a characters personality and shows depth to a character.
Experiments
Looking at these images inspired me to try different styles, profiles and poses. I was struggling with what poses to draw so I drew the body outline from some of my modelling photos. I drew the side profile with help from a tutorial found on tiktok (link below) and the face on the left was trying to draw something more realistic however I ended up not liking how it turned out so I'm going to stick with my own style. I haven't used these poses and techniques on photoshop yet but I do plan to ASAP.

I like the idea of drawing one character in different poses and facial expressions so you see more of the characters personality and it will be a challenge for me as I struggle with facial features so it will be interesting to play around with. I chose the top image because the style was very different and showed many sides on the character. This is very different to the bottom left as this shows the same/similar expressions and the same poses so you don't get much from the characters. However, I do like they showed almost the entire character in this. Finally, the bottom right was selected as it will help me improve my drawing skills. I'm going to attempt to create as many of these expressions as I can with just a simple character.
Tutorials
I was looking for a tutorial on side profiles to expand my knowledge on them and found the video on the left, so far I've only tried the 1st method however during the video the artist mentioned that they had done a 3/4 view tutorial and, as I do a lot of 3/4 view drawings but struggle to draw in the features, I thought it might be useful so watched that and tried out the first method as well. Both were very easy to follow and were informative too.
