Watching this showreel I felt different things. I was curious about how they created this showreel and what softwares they used. I also felt intimidated and thought to myself I could never reach such a high level of skill but at the same time I was inspired to push myself and see what I could create with more practice.

In terms of production with creating stuff like this I would like to be on the editing side of things like adding different graphics, just giving it that little something that makes it special.

I know my skills have improved over the years but they aren't at the standard I like just yet but I know if I percivere I can get to where I want to be.

I think this company is different to what I've seen in the past and seeing as this video is 5 years ago I can only imagine what they are able of creating with time and experience.

Currently my skillset isn't very broad as I mostly worked with photoshop for the past two years and last year dabbled in aftereffects. I mostly focus on 2D so don't really do much in Maya or Cinema 4D. I tried working in animate two years ago but I didn't like the flow of the tools so stuck with photoshop. I also have alot of expirience drawing on paper.

Victoria Siemer

I chose to research Victoria Siemer as her art work is very different and stands apart from the crowd. After looking into her artwork she mostly works with photoshop, adobe dimension and landscapes to create "altered landscapes" and "portals." I'd never heard of adobe dimensions but would like to experiment with it to see if I can incorporate it into my work somehow and I can add it to my skill set.

I chose to look into this artist aswell because him and Victoria are very different Victoria focuses of still artwork and her work is more simplistic whereas Daniel does a mixture of still work and animations. Daniel uses a range of different skills as none of his work looks the same as the rest, some look 3D, some hand drawn and others look minimalistic. Victoria however, sticks to the same style with the majority of her artwork.

I decided to look into this company as they caught my eye scrolling through this page:

I think the reason that I chose this company because I had seen a lot of their work without even realising it. After looking at more of their work I realised just how often I see them in day to day life.

Our task for the day was to create a composition using photoshop based on ourselves, our lifestyle and ambitions. This was also a good way to refresh our skills and show what we could do. We were allowed to use photos of ourselves, find pictures on the internet and use our own artwork.

The photos I used were mostly from the internet (links attached above) and a photo of me I really like. I was struggling to get inspiration so put on some music and "Crazy Train - Ozzy Osborne" came on so I decided to add a guitar in as I love music and playing instruments, I added a retro stereo as it looks similar to the one I have at home, the Monster Energy symbol was included as its my favourite drink and you'll almost always see my with one in my hand. The bird in the cage is to do with mental health as I sometimes feel as though I'm not free. Finally I added the Non-binary flag in paint splatters as that is my gender identity so is a big part of me.

I quite like this art piece as the colour all stand out against each other but not in a way where they clash. I'm not sure what my ambition is at the minute but this piece definitely describes me as a person.

Splatters look cool, visually appealing, flag was a good idea, filled the page
